The Rusty Speeder - Star Wars Inspired Environment - UE5
This large scale project was created using:
Blender
Substance Designer/Painter
Zbrush
Photoshop
Unreal Engine 5
This project went through a few iterations until I settled on the final composition. The idea for this piece was to try new techniques and learn from implementing them. It was a very long project, consisting of a few long breaks.
This project was inspired by Galaxy's edge, Star Wars Jedi Survivor as well as a few Star Wars TV Shows. I wanted to try and capture the feeling of the Star Wars Universe and put a bright spin on the lighting and making the scene feel cozy.
I wanted to try and use an ultra wide resolution to this project to really get a open large scale feel to the environment.
Early on in the project I decided to use a mixture of Tile, Trims, Weighted Normals and bakes to achieve the goal of the project. I utilized modularity a lot in this environment.
I decided to go with a bake and RGB mask approach to the rocks which really helped keep texture resolutions sharp.
